Learning Through Play

Our staff work tirelessly to ensure that learning supports children’s development through both planned and spontaneous play.  Activities are fun and motivating for the children and are designed to provide a positive and happy start to their education.

Giving You Peace of Mind

Your child’s journey at The Lea Nursery begins with a comprehensive settling in process, completely tailored to the individual child, giving you peace of mind.  Being a teacher-led nursery and part of the Primary school helps to ensure a smooth transition for your child into their Reception year.

Our Facilities

Our Nursery is well equipped, with plenty of indoor facilities featuring areas for reading, writing, role play, construction, music, maths, investigation, ICT and creativity. The outdoor learning environment includes a large canopy area which enables children to play outside in all weathers, a climbing frame, mud kitchen, play sheds, race track and a great range of interactive play equipment.

Seamless Transition to ‘Big School’

Our children have regular opportunities to visit and work with the rest of the school.  Wherever possible we participate in assemblies and other whole school activities which ensure a smooth transition to full-time education in our Reception class.

Virtual Open Mornings

Due to the current lockdown we are obviously unable to hold our planned Open Mornings, but we’d still love to meet you and show you around our school virtually.  Please fill in this form – or call the school on 01582 767 939 to book a day/time.

“The Lea is a truly wonderful place, where all staff value, nurture and celebrate the talents and interests of all its pupils.  It has a wonderful feeling of community and togetherness. It’s the little things they do so well that make it such a fantastic place and why children love learning so much”.  Parent View, Ofsted 2018

“As headteacher at The Lea, I am incredibly excited about what the future holds for your children and welcome you to the school to find out more.”  James Berry, Headteacher
